The Ultimate Guide to Dubai for First-Timers
(everything you need to know so you don't get lost... in luxury!)
Are you preparing your first trip to Dubai?
I have all the must-know tips, the experiences you shouldn't miss and the mistakes you should avoid. Because Dubai is not just a destination - it's a life experience.
🕐 1. When to go?
➡️ October - April is the best period: sunny, hot but not suffocating, ideal for activities.
❌ Avoid June - September: the temperature reaches 45°C and the humidity... is red hot.
🧳 2. What to take with you?
Light clothes (but modest - in public places avoid too short or revealing)
A coat for the malls - they have strong air conditioning.
Swimsuit, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Best outfit for restaurants and rooftop bars (Dubai loves glitz).
🏙️ 3. What to do in Dubai?
🌆 The Modern Side:
Burj Khalifa: Go to At the Top, on the 124th floor for a view like no other.
Dubai Mall: Shopping, ice rink, aquarium, waterfall, restaurants – all in one.
Dubai Marina & JBR Walk: For walks by the water with skyscrapers in the background.
The Frame & Museum of the Future: Amazing for photos & technology.
🏜️ The Traditional Side:
Camel ride in the desert + dinner under the stars.
Al Fahidi / Old Dubai: alleys, museums, teahouses.
Souks: Gold, spices, fabrics – take a breath and haggle!
Take an Abra ride on Dubai Creek (a traditional wooden boat).
🛥️ Bonus Experiences:
A Marina cruise at night with dinner and illuminated skyscrapers.
Atlantis Aquaventure: the largest waterpark in the Middle East.
Ski at the Mall of the Emirates – because in Dubai, anything goes!
🚇 4. How to get around?
The metro is spotless and covers the main points.
For more comfortable transportation: Uber or Careem.
If you drive, be careful: driving is fast and... "daring".
💰 5. Money & Prices
Currency: Dirham (AED)
Prices: From very economical (in the souks & fast food) to... insanely luxurious.
You can pay for almost everything with a card.
👗 6. Dress code / culture
Dubai is open-minded, but respects tradition.
In public places: avoid too short clothes.
On beaches, resorts, clubs: you can dress more freely.
Public hugging, drinking alcohol on the street and abusive behavior are prohibited.
📱 7. Internet & communication
Get a tourist SIM card at the airport or from Etisalat / Du stores.
Most places have free Wi-Fi.
💡 8. Survival tips:
Book tickets for Burj Khalifa & activities online, they will be cheaper.
Drink plenty of water, especially in summer.
Take your time – Dubai is safe, clean and organized. Enjoy every moment!
✨ At the end of the day…
Dubai is not only about luxury. It is a combination of culture, innovation, desert, sea and hospitality. Every day there is different, full of contrasts and surprises.
